Where
We Are
Strathpine State School is located just minutes north of Brisbane, in the
Pine Rivers Shire. The school has a population of approximately 500 students. It is located in Don Court, Strathpine, bordering on Three Mile Creek which wraps around the school's boundary.

Our
History
Strathpine State School opened in January 1911 with an enrolment of 25 pupils under Mr Irvine as Head Teacher. The school, then located in Gympie Road Strathpine, grew steadily over the next 40 years experiencing considerable growth in the late sixties and early seventies. Much of the available land was taken up with temporary buildings. In the mid seventies a decision was made to build a new school in Don Court, on vacant land adjacent to Pine Rivers High School.
Initially two teaching blocks and a resource centre were built and opened in 1976. The school then operated as a split campus, with the Administration travelling between the two campuses. With the completion of the remaining teaching blocks in 1978 a decision was made to operate two separate schools. The old site become known as Strathpine Infants School for years 1-2 and the new school became Strathpine
State School catering for years 3-7 with approximately 750 students.
In 1989 the two schools were amalgamated and once again Strathpine State School catered for all year levels. The Infants school burnt down in the early 1990s and a community health centre now stands in its place.
The school population continues to grow steadily
each year.
This year in 2007 the school has an enrolment of
approximately 500 students from Prep - Year 7.
The Strathpine Pre-school opened in 1976 as a triple unit centre in Grahams Road.
This facility closed at the end of 2006 with the introduction of Prep.
The Strathpine Special Education Development Unit began operations at the beginning of the 1985 school year. The program was set up to provide services for children in the birth to 6 years age range with a moderate/severe physical or intellectual disability, and to provide support for their families. The SEDU began with an enrolment of 12 children which
grew to over 40 children with three teachers. Services provided include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and assistance for the visually impaired.
In the Year 2007 the SEDU became part of the Pine Rivers Special School.
Strathpine State School though does cater for Prep - Year 7 children with
special needs within its Special Education Centre (SEC).
Our school also has a dental clinic.
